Absolutely gorgeous view overlooking bay, decent flush toilet about 1 min walk toward port area.
Somewhat built up area so not at all isolated (please try not to annoy the locals).

Brilliant view of lake surrounded by the hills.
Can park right next to the water. Lots of ducks. Make sure you get there early since the good spots fill up fast. Good drop toilet. Popular place so expect neighbours. This is the best free camp site in NZ!

Very pretty, especially during sunset.
Make sure you arrive early since only a few spots have the good view. Clean flush toilets, and can go swimming in lake (cold though).

Fantastic views overlooking running creek, flowering fields and snow capped mountains (also ducks)!
Clean drop toilet. A few midges after dusk but that's at all the sites to Milford. Reasonably quite at this one compared to others nearby. We had DOC pass so not sure about normal costs.

Fantastic view over lake.
A bit further back from the water unfortunately (other side of the road). Need to walk down path to get to flush toilets but they were in good condition.

Wonderfully isolated but quite a drive to get to.
Quite pretty nature but can definitely find better in NZ. Flush toilet had a few cobwebs inside so not great for arachnophobes. All around decent.

Pretty views of bay and ocean, decent flush toilet, quite busy when we were there.
Best spots are at the very end of the road but it's a bit of a walk to get back to the toilet from there. Make sure you seal up as soon as the sun starts to set, midges attack in swarms.

Pretty view of mountains and river very close, can't park alongside river though.
Quite busy with lots of spots. Drop toilets were adequate. Few sandflies around.

Good views for tents, only alright for camper-vans.
Facilities were excellent and DOC volunteers were friendly. Only a few spots for camper-vans with alright views the rest get stuck behind.
