Very nice company, who helped us all the way for our 27 day rental of a Euro Sleeper.
The company:
All the staff were very helpful and welcoming, and truly did their best in order for us to have the best possible experience. They had prepared all the paper work before we arrived, and introduced us to the car in a very professional manner. Even taught us how to drive an automatic! Did not try to charge us for any extras or anything like that. The lady from the company did a very thorough (outdoor) check of the car before we got it, and noted every little scratch, and when we gave back the car, they did not really check too much. Only minus was that they only drove us to the train station in Auckland, not the city center.
The car:
The car (Euro sleeper) was very clean and mostly well-functioning. Lacked some horsepower sometimes, but we averaged around 10 km/L of fuel, which I believe is pretty good for a campervan. I could barely fit in the bed (1.82m tall), and the bed was not super comfortable. I would probably spend a little more next time, to get a bigger campervan, as it was pretty cramped with two persons. Also the grey-water waste tank had to be emptied regularly, which was a little cumbersome, as the drain and pipe system did not really work (had to back the car up so that the pipe was over the drain to empty).
Company was very good though! We took it because of the good reviews, and they definitely deserve a good one from us also!
Hello Troels
Thank you for your very honest review! We enjoyed having you rent with Euro Campers. Sorry you didn't quite fit in the bed! - We do have the vehicle specifications on our website and in the quote so do encourage you to look at these for your next booking - otherwise, I do agree, the bed is a little short for you.
Thanks for the points, and we look forward to welcoming you on your next trip!
Regards
Euro Campers

Would not recommend.
Not worth either the time or the money. The whales are nice, but you spend soo much time in order to get to them, and then they are there for 2 minutes, after which you spend a lot of time looking for the next one. Too commercialized also, with three boats basically hunting the whales around, after planes or helicopters had spotted them. The crew created a massive hype, which really did not materialize. One of the engines of the boat broke down on the way back, which also extended our trip by around 40 minutes. Did see seals and a few albatros, which were nice, but those can easily be spotted from the shore elsewhere.
The boat and the crew were nice, but it was just such a waste of time and money anyways. Also I do not see why everyone has to gather in the city, in order to take a bus to the jetty, when most people have a car anyways. Probably just so that people will buy stuff from their souvenir shop.

Couldn't find the exact spot, as there are no roads leading to the spot on the Rankers app map, but ended up parking on a small gravel road nearby with sheep fields on both sides of the campervan.
Super pretty landscape, awesome nighttime star view, and best of all: super quiet and no cars coming by during the entire night. No toilets or any facilities though.

Nice free camping spot, lots of spots although we arrived at 7:30pm in high season.
Clean toilet, but no sink or running water. Overall fine for one night stay.
