Big campsite with just basic toiletts and showers for a quite high price.
We expected more for our money. Had far better campsites for the same price
Water is heavily chloranised. It is drinkable but tasts awful.
Nice we're all the birds and it is not to far away from Wellington.

$10 pp on an unpowered site right next to a lake/former Gold Mine.
Fully equiped kitchen and hot showers. Construction and improvements are going on at the moment.
The best is the lovely pub with a billiard table, piano and a cosy fireplace. Went there after dinner and were invited by the owner for a local beer.

Equipped with polar jackets and red light torches.
We were brought up to the Mt John Observatory by bus. Amazing night sky viewed and explained by enthusiastic guides/researchers.

Three hour walk return along the Diamond Lake up to the forestry hills of the Rocky Mountain.
Amazing 360 degree view from the Summit. Make sure to take the western route up so not to spoil the view in advance.

A day trip on a speed boat including sightseeing, two scuba dives, a private waterfall, lunch and a very personal and relaxing atmosphere!
In our opinion, best way to explore Milford Sound away from the tourist masses.

We got a private tour (only $40 more than the group tour) learning a lot about Punakaiki Valley while riding through its wildlife with multiple river crossings.
Very friendly guides taking into account the ability of every rider individually. Great break at their remote hut.

Very modern site.
Hot showers and clean toiletts. We didn't used the kitchen but it looked very decent.
The staff is friendly and even let us make a call for free. Otherwise one could use the telephone there or buy 100MB Internet for $10. There is no mobile reception.
We paid $120 for two persons and two nights. It is not the cheapest but for the logistic effort to get everything over from Te Anau it is ok.

Big campsite with lots of space for campers on powered and non-powered sites.
We arrived late after reception hours. They prepared envelops for late-arrivals which make it very easy even without a booking. We paid in the morning.
The bathrooms are mixed-gender and it would be nice if everyone just cleans the sinks after using them. The showers are missing something to put your stuff. They run hot water for six minutes which is enough to take a descend shower.
Fresh water, a recycling system and a dump station provided. When we left we saw a gas-BBQ free to use.
All in all everything you expect when staying at a powered campsite for $25 PP.

Very nice spot for our first night.
Perfect sunrise to have breakfast to. Good location on our way to Akaroa. Public toilette is clean and very well maintained. We just couldn't find the switch for the light and helped ourselves with a head-torch. It's just next to the road but there is very little traffic during the night.
