Best campsite ever.
It's amazing that this campsite is for free. It's a huge area. One area is wide green field and an other area is close to the river. At the green field area is a flushed toilet and at the river a long drop toilet. There are a lot water stations and fire pits.
Minimum once a day a friendly guy makes his visit on his quad and with his two dogs.
At weekend a lot of locals came also to this camping ground.
This spot is just awesome and perfect if you need no hot shower. The area around the camping ground looks like Hobbiton and is beautiful. We really love this place.

A very new and nice camping ground.
It has a kitchen with a lounge. The kitchen is fully equiped with 2 stoves, a microwave and a lot of dishes.
I saw 9 places for campervans. You can reserve the whirpool for 30min private spa.
The toilets and showers are locked with a code and are clean. A small minus is that the showers has too less hooks or some other space for clothes
Great feedback and thank you. We are a popular spot and fill fast. We are at the base of Tongariro National Park with shuttles departing to the Famous Tongariro Alpine Crossing at 6am-7am-8am-9am-10.30am

Very nice camp ground.
A lot of permanent campers but they are friendly people. The owners are also really friendly and helpfully.
- very clean and new facillities
- showers with a lot space for clothes (the best showers I ever saw at a camping ground)
- free hot showers with runtime of 7min
- 2 BBQ's
- 3 roofed picknick bench
- 2 freezer and 2 cooler
- laundry
- WIFI can be purchased
The only very small minus are the both stoves which are not so powerfull.
$10 per person is a great price for this service.

It's a beautiful place within a great forest.
If you want be isolated from the rest of civilisation it's the perfect place.
- there is no signposted from DOC
- one huge area and a lot of small isolated areas
- aproximate 15km from start of clements road gravel part or 30min
- we can't find water supply
- 1 toilet
- a lot of fire pits
- could see 3 picnic bench

Nice spot with just composting toiletts, no water supply except the water from the river.
$8 per night an person just for a place to stand is in my opinion to expensive. A DOC officer checked the tax box at 7pm and 7am, therefore be sure you paid.
