Directions are a little confusing, but if you hang a right just as you come up to the lake, then you can pull over anywhere along the road to camp.
Many people spread out from main highway up to power lines. Great views of Mt. Cook. We camped in open area with about 7 other vehicles. Everyone was quiet and kept to themselves. And NO flies! Very pleasant place to stay.

Quite a few people spent the night on Jan 27th.
Many tenters. But not noisy, everyone was very respectful and quiet. Water was VERY cold :). Very beautiful views. If you have time continue down to next DOC campsite towards Haast. It’s much better. Bathroom is flush toilet and clean. Good place to stop for a night to get some rest.

Exactly as described.
A little hard to find at the last point. Previous directions are good, but after going under track bridge and turning left, take next ‘right’ down to beach, stay right and go up the hill to parking lot. And to find toilets follow signs down to road (south) and then turn right to go up the road to the football pitch area. They are in parking lot. A little bit of a walk. A few locals drop buy for a walk or to hang out. Overall a nice little spot.
