What this camping lacks in modern shower facilities it more than makes up for in location and ambience.
The private beach is long and beautiful! We extended our stay because we liked it so much.

Good campsite, sufficient space.
Clean showers and toilets. Friendly staff and not crowded in December. Decent rates. This was a relief compared to seemingly over-crowded campings near Lake Tekapo.

I can imagine this can be quite crowded, and with good reason, but when we were here (mid-November) it was only 1/3 full.
Selected our spot next to the water. Truly amazing view. Clean showers, no power, but a dump station at the entrance. Lots of short and long hikes starting from the site. Well worth the hassle of driving to the north end of Abel Tasman. One of the most beautiful spots we've been to.

Although this site was quite busy (weekend in mid-November), the view was breathtaking though.
Great for a first night in a self-contained vehicle. No facilities on site.

Although there is a toilet, this spot is extremely noisy due to the proximity to the highway.
Furthermore there is no clear signage indicating the spot / indicating that camping is allowed (at all).

Extremely beautiful spot.
We were lucky enough to be alone. A bit much asphalt but the views are truly fantastic. Furthermore there is a toilet, 1 cold shower and picnic tables. What's more to want on a free spot.

We came in late but the staff was very helpful in leaving instructions.
Facilities are top notch. No spectacular views though.

Although there is a clean toilet, we found the spot fairly busy (mid-November) and the views are nice but not the best we have seen.
There are free spots for self contained vehicles (no facilities) along the nearby Ormond drive and Nuhaka Opoutama road with much nicer views (but without the toilets).
