Warm and welcoming, very flexible (let us stay for no extra charge in order to clean the campervan prior to leaving), and with extra facilities such as van washing station.

This is a fantastic campsite, not too big and not too small.
There are plenty of flat hardstandings for large camper vans, well spaced out. The shower and toilet facilities are spotless. The showers themselves are spacious, and the hot, hot water goes on forever, giving the nicest showers we've had in NZ. The kitchen was comfortable, well equipped and clean. Effective laundry facilities and a hair dryer. There were literal gigabytes of Wi-Fi. At $50 for a family of 4 with one nearly adult child - this site was a massive bargain. Friendly and helpful owner who have lots of unsolicited good advice about things to do and where to go. An extra bit of loveliness was the wonderful free glow-worm walk given by the owner at 8pm... The moon was so bright the tree ferns cast shadows. Do not miss this campsite!

A perfectly decent carpark site, quiet out of season.
Relatively sheltered from quite strong prevailing winds. No light in the loo, and that horrible scratchy loo paper I remember from childhood. Take a head torch and some soft quilted for some home comfort.
