Set in a beautiful valley, the cave is nothing really special, the glowworms are pretty nice.

Nice walk starting right at the glowworm caves entrance, diverse landscape even though it is only 1 hour (2km return).

$25 entrance fee is quite expensive, if you can choose to go to Te Papa in Wellington, which is a lot better.
OK activity for a rainy day in Auckland. It is not very interesting.

Two hours loop through forest and open landscape - there must be spectacular views to the mountains.
We did not see anything since it was a very cloudy day.

Still not cheap though. They charge your credit card the money when the booking is completed, which can be a month before the trip starts.
