4.0/5
Great location and great price with free WiFi.
This is a city camp site with a nice kiwi feel to it - plenty of space and good facilities block which are now up and running. A good start or a good end to any Christchurch trip. A couple of points lost for a few too many permanent campers and camper van facilities all a bit isolated. Generally though not a bad spot near to the airport and city.

A lovely 20 minute journey over the hill from Akoroa to Okains Bay to a lovely beach front site a long way from anywhere.
Basic facilities if your not self contained but a super location with some nice walks. Pretty good value for money but a point lost for no WiFi connection.
South Island ▷ Canterbury ▷ Akaroa ▷
4.0/5
Good facilities but the only real option in Akaroa.
The elevated position has the benefit of a cool breeze and nice views but just too far out of town to class as local. The steep hill to the site by road or the shortcut footpath involves over 120 steps so beware if you’re not after a work out after a few drinks. All the typical mod cons for a Top 10 site, main downfall the Hill.
South Island ▷ Canterbury ▷ Lyttelton ▷
4.0/5
Great site for self contained or camping but a tad expensive for not a lot - great location and great walks but a couple of points lost for price and no WiFi.
A super cafe on site but not open Monday or Tuesday, so beware.
South Island ▷ Canterbury ▷ Hanmer Springs ▷
4.0/5
Good location for the Springs etc but the site is a little run down when compared to other Top 10 and the price.
All the usual stuff for a Top 10, coins for the laundry and cost for the extra WiFi but if you can get through the money stuff it’s a good location and easy access.
South Island ▷ Kaikoura Region ▷ Kaikoura ▷
4.5/5
Great location for everything you want to do in Kaikoura and ticks all the Top 10 boxes, great WiFi, clean and free showers, swimming pool (ish ) and hot tub , near local bars and restaurants and the best
cray fish in town on the way to the peninsula - so all good; one point deducted for public access to facilities but all very nice folk so no drama, stay here and you won’t be disappointed.

Stayed 3 nights early December 2017 in drop dead gorgeous weather, golden sands, 25 degrees, great location and great facilities.......a definite 10 for us although by comparison on the expensive side
so if you can overcome that then come here. A decent pub and restaurant ,a good supermarket, a great beach with walks and perfect open water swimming and track cycling - Kaiteriteri is one heck of a place for a beach rest and access to the National Park and boat trips- bingo!

As first timers in a motorhome we found the Bolero excellent in every way, great space, compfy bed, large fridge and easy to drive and manouver in and out of the sites we stayed.
Excellent customer service from Richy and Kay at Christchurch. We stayed at a mix of DOC sites, out of the way community sites and central hook up sites and at each location found the motorhome more than capable for our needs wether freedom camping or on powered sites.
10/10 all the way for the team at Iconic
Hi Paul and Paula
Thankyou so much for taking the time to review Iconic, it is really appreciated by all the team.
It was a pleasure meeting you both, and I'm sure that your return trip to explore the North Island won't be too far away

What a little gem of a site and a great host in Don.
Lovely welcome and a great pitch by the side of a river that was great for a dip. Loads of tips from Don on do’s and don'ts in the region which helped massively - pick of the crop from the veg garden and a great WiFi with power for devises. A massive ten for Don and the Rankers team
South Island ▷ Marlborough ▷ Havelock ▷
3.5/5
Havelock is a great village and there is a lot going in around the marina with the Post boat trip but the park is set up for permanent residents and not visitors...At least that’s the way it feels....facilities
and staff are great but a bit of a car park feel for a holiday park price. A definite stop over as we stayed two nights but not many options locally if you want power and a dump station.
South Island ▷ Nelson Region ▷ Golden Bay ▷
5.0/5
This is a quality top 10 site with great facilities, right on the beach, two great bars and restaurant over the road, a fantastic supermarket and brilliant staff.....everything a top 10 should be and is
- spent two days there and loved every minute in late November. If your after budget and basic don’t go here this is top drawer.

OK this was 10 out of 10 for location but lost a couple of points for quality and facilities - saying that we would go back there every time as the location is drop dead gorgeous.
Ideal location for the spit and the beaches without the dirt track so if you want laid back vibe and two steps onto a great swim beach then stay here - it’s awesome just needs a little TLC.
South Island ▷ Queenstown Region ▷ Queenstown Township ▷
4.0/5
Spent two nights here and facilities are spot on.
Just slightly off the beaten track for Queenstown and next to the road so two points deducted - otherwise everything you would expect from a Top 10 - the staff were great and very helpful organising our flight to Milford Sound and Jet Shotover Boat ride which is a five minute walk away. Gorgeous weather made our two days perfect.
South Island ▷ Wanaka Region ▷ Wanaka Township ▷
4.5/5
Spent 3 nights here in glorious sunshine and clear blue skies in mid Nov - Tracy and Glen were great when we needed them and the pitch for our Motor was perfect.Views to die for and a nice gentle breeze
. 1 point deducted for the surroundings to the pitches which were quite dusty due to the location. A short walk to the lake for swimming and sun bathing and early evening drinks made for a perfect location for our trip
South Island ▷ Wanaka Region ▷ Wanaka Township ▷
3.5/5
As a Top 10 site it did what it said on the tin - the motorhomes were on the top of the site with great views and a nice breeze but a little out of Wanaka so we had to drive everywhere.
Stayed one night as the drive even down to the lake put us off.
South Island ▷ West Coast ▷ Okarito ▷
5.0/5
Look we are newbs with the camper van and we've hit some great spots in only 10 days in NZ but this Okarito place hits all the spots so 10/10.
Why - easy access, great vibe, lovely folk. Great camp site ($15 each - so what) its a community project and every penny gets re invested so it’s the bees knees. We had lovely hosts, Richard and Kay on the site were doing the welcome bit and organised a happy hour for the residents.....beautiful and so friendly - if you want isolated gorgeousness off the beaten track but ok for large vehicles then stop here and feel the vibe. Don’t worry about the sand flies just buy the local stuff from the cafe and stay safe...we did and no bother- sunset west and snowy mountains east...OMG

We loved this place, great location and swimming, great bike ride or walk around the lake, great vibe but busy on weekends when the locals come out to play.
A big tick and could have stayed longer.
South Island ▷ West Coast ▷ Fox Glacier ▷

Stayed for 1 night on our travels north and was blessed with clear blue skies and 25 degrees.
The site is slightly out of town but with great views of the mountains. A great walk around Lake Matheson and managed to get the reflections money shot of Mount Cook on the lake - everything you could want from a Top10 site but no added extras so 7 it is.
South Island ▷ Mount Cook - MacKenzie ▷ Mount Cook ▷
5.0/5
We arrived mid Nov to clear blue skies and 25 degrees the site was really busy but plenty of space to park up.
Fees payable but our DOC pass covered us. Superb location and basic facilities but well kept by DOC staff - 10 out of 10 all the way but the weather helped. A great walk up Hooker Valley track to see Mt Cook in all her glory.

Day 1 of our month motorhome trip and arrived at Lake Pukaki.
It does what it says on the tin this DOC site - no facilities but great views and lake to swim in, we drove 5km past the hydro pipes not realising the site is before the pipes. Blue skies and views of Mount Cook were awesome. One night was sufficient but plenty of space to spread out if you need it
