Unexpected large cavern to be explored.
Not big enough to be commercially exploited, thank goodness, but big enough to be interesting. Take a torch

This was the only company who would provide a van pick up from Queenstown, drop off in Picton - probably due to the lateness of my booking.
I've given it a 9 only because the van was a little older, but still excellent though.
Hi John
Its been a pleasure to have assisted in your holiday and I appreciate the honest feedback given you were in one of our 1999 Economy models, even though they are older/ budget models they are very popular and its good to still receive a 9/10 on them
Best Regards Tony

Very small family fun site of 9 powered pitches.
Very new facilities and well planned. The atmosphere is very quiet here and wouldnt suit families. Owners very friendly, attentive.

Never kayaked before but this was a good experience with an efficient and helpful outfit.
Everyone involved seemed to go the extra mile to make things work for the customer.

We spent an informative 4 hours here - but we read every historical note available and dwelt a long time in house and garden.
Well restored and excellently presented.

Watching yellow eyed penguins in the company of two knowledgable wardons sure beats paying at Oamaru.

Very easy walking through mostly forest or beachside.
Access by water taxi to the various part makes it an expensive option for day walks, plus an hour or so in bumpy water taxi takes the fun out.

Good value city centre site.
Excellent for theose wanting a 5 minute walk to the Cathedral but note it can be noisy, and street lights make it bright ant night. Nice people though.

Run by the Birklands Habitat Trust, this site is suitable for those looking for a bush hideaway.
Very quiet and quirky. Facilities are basic like stepping back in time. Great local walks and good for bird spotting. Camping as it used to be.
Hi John,
Thanks for your feedback and review. The Birdlands Trust ceased to operate about 10 years ago and the original land area was subdivided into two properties. The larger area, The Little River Campground and native Habitat is 7.5h or 18 acres and has no caged birds now. We have a covenant with the Banks Peninsula Conservation Trust http://www.bpct.org.nz/ as well as the small campground. The 'Camping as it us to be' is a quote we have been using thanks. Retro, back to basics camping.

2 hours riding around the beach at Marahau.
This guy taught us more about horses in 15 minutes than in many hours at dull trekking centres. A thoroughly recommendable contact for horse riding.
