We stayed here on our first night in NZ, and found it one of the most picturesque places we've stayed.
Grounds are beautiful and the gorge is right next to you. Would definitely recommend!

The shining star for this place has got to be it's facilities, they really are brilliant.
Showers are great, kitchen is well equipped and everything is clean.
Perfect base to sleep and refresh everything if you've been on the road for a few days - just loses points for the lack of shade and atmosphere.
Glow Worm Dell is just up the road and WELL worth a late night visit!

This is a great spot, has everything you need (including power points in the bathrooms which I greatly appreciated!).
The bar & restaurant out the front has a great vibe and awesome happy hour!

This is a nice little free camp spot!
Drive down away from the road and you'll find beautiful spots under the trees & next to the river. We hiked up over the hill and found a big patch of purple lupin next to the river.
Toilet is as basic as they come, don't forget to bring your own paper!
Yes, there are sandflies but they really are everywhere that whole area - Bushmans spray really helps!
