I've stayed here a few times over the years.
For some.reaosn, the passing trassic really bothered me this time. Maybe the road is busier? 4g signal was good although dropped a few times. I have no idea what people are going on about re it not being flat, they make it sound like you're parked on a hill. I looked and couldn't even find where the incline was. I felt safe, 3 other campers there in June. Toilet isn't the best but not as bad as some are making it out to be. Overall, a good spot. And visiting the woodshed cafe 5 minutes up the road is a must! Great cogfe and food and animal petting/feeding 🙂

Amazing view across the lake and mountains.
We arrived in the dark so this was an extra special surprise when we woke up to an amazing sunny morning. Only one other camper was there so a very still and silent morning. Toilet closed for the winter but that didn't bother us as we are self contained.

This place does what it says on the tin.
It's a place (car park?) for self contained campervans to stop for the night. It's normally used by whitebait fisherman but is free for all. Yes there is a now closed cafe and yes there a few old caravans in the car park but they were no problem for us! We had a pleasant stay and it was nice to meet some of the locals the next morning. Nothing creepy about this place at all if you ask me.
