A nice day walk along the South Mavora Lake, we found nobody but ducks, rabbits and a beautiful nature.
Forest, grassland, mountains. There is a campsite for those who like peaceful places, they shot some of the Lord of the Rings scenes here!

Unfortunately I could not complete the loop because of bad weather but the part between the control gates and Luxmore Hut were worth the trip.
The view from the top is absolutely wonderful, the track is well marked, the hut is quite comfortable. I just do not understand why we had to pay for a bed before we left Te Anau, as there is not guarantee of a bed on arrival.....

A small boat with few people, so we enjoyed very much our little trip in the glowworms world.
A bit pricey, ($75), for just a boat tour but it was longer that with other companies. Not as impressive as you can see on the advertisement pictures, but it is still magic!

A three hour loop to the glacier and a lake with a baby iceberg, crossing, a few swing bridges, snow, tormented rivers (on the bridge!).
A wonderful track with beautiful scenery. You also have to stop on the way to Lake Pukaki and Tekapo, one of the most amazing landscapes I have ever seen.

In my opinion, a very good introduction to the story of the Maori people and their relationship with the English Crown.
You can spend a long time there, there is really a lot to see and the place itself is very beautiful. It is really worth it if you want to understand part of this country's story.
