2 smelly drop toilets, very muddy area, highway traffic noise, 2 trains in the middle of the night, rooster crowing at 4 am, my least favourite camp site of our 2 weeks of camping, but happy with the price

Perfect last night before turning in our campervan.
Very clean bathrooms and kitchen. Has every amenity you can think of. Friendly too! $21 pp on non-powered site, totally worth the money.
Great feedback thanks Judy.

Arrive before the sun sets.
It was very dark when we arrived but had we arrived in daylight, it was well marked on the building. Beautiful night sky loaded with brilliant stars. Bathrooms were roomy and fairly clean, playground.

Seals, sea lions, penguins, oh my!
Sunbathing, frolicking in the water and hamming it up for photos. Take the road to the lighthouse. Don't miss this!

Stayed for an early ferry crossing.
Worked out well. Enjoyed the walk/run path along the bay. Walked to town, above the town on trails, found Hobbits Hollow. Walked about town. 2 supermarkets close by. Enjoyed our time in Wellington.

Has all the amenities for $27 pp.
After mostly freedom camping for the previous 10 days, this seemed like luxury and totally worth the price. Laundry and spacious, clean, flush toilets with hair dryers. 5 minute drive to Milford Sound cruise boats. Many delightful stops on the way to/from Milford Sound.

Pretty area, near rapids and falls.
We were the only campervan for the night. We arrived before 5 pm and the restroom was already locked. The falls were worth visiting. The entrance was closed so we parked near the lookout and walked.

Stopped for the night after the long winding road from Picton.
It was raining and very foggy so not much of a view. Smelly bathroom as others noted. Not far from entrance to Abel Tasman National Park.

$10 pp, planned to stay 1 night but came back for another night as we spent some time in Wanaka, which is close by but not really walking distance.
Large, spacious campground with toilets.

Not free, $8 pp, long drive in but worth it.
Bring insect repellent, toilet quite smelly. Rocky but beautiful black sand beach. Beautiful sunset and bonus, double rainbow. Spaces fill fast.

Convenient and clean, as others noted guard will greet and direct you.
Toilet not available on site, but nearby a Chinese restaurant. Quick, efficient overnight. We appreciate the National Army Museum allowing us to stay for free.

Very friendly caretaker and his chocolate lab, Coco.
This location covers most of your needs. 4 clean flush toilets, running water, sink area for dishes, garbage and recycling containers. Clean and well stocked supermarket across the street, tasty Chinese take away, Buzz cafe for meals. Interesting old train station and playground for the kids. Thank you Lumsden! We supported your businesses!

Quite muddy due to the rains but offered dumping station and water fill up.
Across the street is Kells Hotel and pub with pool tables and darts. Enjoyed meeting and supporting the locals. A grass track is 2 1/2 km away for workouts. Supermarket, petrol all close by.
