Steep and intense climb to an amazing view!! At the top, it is worth going left for a second alpine lake. Hard on the knees on the way down....

Best hike in New Zealand for us.
We only did the Conical Hill past Harris Saddle Summit, and back in one day. Changing landscapes all the way. Great views and a good way to do the hike, as the huts/campsites are always full.

The hike itself was amazing, little effort for great rewarding views.
The problem was the road to get there, the worst we have driven in New Zealand so far...... the hike is not worth the drive.
