Very scenic, at least when the weather is good.
Tough walk, badly signposted, but all trails lead to Ben Lomond at the end. Start at the end of Thompson Street or Wynyard Crescent. Took us 5 hours return (fast walking).

We had some trouble at the beginning, since we arrived 8am in Christchurch, but pickup times are starting from 10am.
The camper was also not ready until 11am, but we got the landlady's car to go to town and buy some food etc. The rest is totally satisfying, decent car, good tyres and clean.
