Not the best DOC campsite we've stayed in.
Location was good because it was down by the water and 5 min drive from the start of the Queen Charlotte Track in Anakiwa. However However the access road is really steep and has severe judder bars. The sites to park your van (or camp) were quite muddy and there was only one long drop toilet for the whole site with no sink or hand sanitizer. Also quite a small campsite.

Not sure about other people's experiences but we thought this was a great campsite.
Showers and toilets were clean. Powered site for our campervan was great. Kitchen was bigger than most in holiday parks. Obviously it didn't have utensils or pots and pans but none of them do because they expect you to have your own if you're camping. Owners were incredibly friendly and helpful.
Pots, fry pans and utensils can be borrowed through the office. Thanks for the review.

Fantastic campsite.
Really nice big kitchen and eating area and super clean bathroom facilities. Really nice campsite and great little play area for kids including a ping pong table for bigger kids ;-) couldn't recommend this place enough!

For only $6 per person it's about the same as a DOC campsite.
Flushing toilets but not the cleanest. Nice to be right by the beach though. Groundsman collects the money at the gate on the way out.

Excellent DOC campsite.
Really big and spread out so plenty of patches for everyone. Beautiful views overlooking the lake. New toilet block with flushing toilets and sinks and multiple cubicles. Refuse and recycling bins also provided. One of the top $8 DOC campsites we've stayed in.

Fantastic holiday park.
Worth every penny. Lovely kitchen with nicely decorated and sheltered eating area. Big clean bathrooms with free hot showers! Super spots to park your van with your own picnic table if you pick one. And a lovely cat to keep you company in the TV room :-)
