What a beautiful place for an easy walk, enjoying birdsong, lush & fragrant bush, and antics of the kaka and takahe.
The fantails were especially friendly. We did not have a chance to spot any skinks, tuatara, or eels, nor kiwi, but a patient observer might have better luck. The facilities are immaculate. Though a bit pricey, the admission fee goes to a great cause.

We had a great experience with Omega.
The customer service was very helpful, good-natured, & down-to-earth. The induction or 'uplift' process was remarkable, as the agent spent a good bit of time with us, giving a lot of good stern advice and many helpful tips for our specific journey on the South Island (and teaching us proper pronunciation of place names). Though not in mint-condition (which is all for the best), the car handled beautifully and withstood a lot of arduous trekking on narrow or bumpy roads. If/when we return to NZ, we would definitely use Omega again.
