Just great!
The $2 garbage bag is for the waste disposal service, I wish some people would use the bag. The area is spotless, don't get the wrong idea but: the fields are covered in beer bottle caps and cigarette filters. As a good camper I don't "just complain" and did my fair share of picking them up.
You can pick your own spot. For the best spot find the one without the bottle caps! 😀

An amazing spot!
Well maintained and completely surrounded by bush. The best place for your first stop if you came across by ferry. It is near the road but amazingly quiet, except for the abundance of soothing bird sounds. There are some small bush tracks, but take care if you walk towards the marsh, it is wet and has soft topsoil.
If you don't like the longdrop please use your own toilet in your campervan, you know there are plenty of dumping stations across New Zealand! Being environmental conscious grows character!!

A dream come true!
Imagine spending the night at an Irish pub drinking and eating and when your eyelids almost fall shut you can tuck in to your cosy bed in your campervan.

Totally worth the trip!
The cliffs are on private land and the scenery is amazing. So the $5 for the road usage is a good deal for a view and an astounding walk. Be sure to walk all the way to the end of the road.

I love this spot.
Plenty of room on the 'main' field by the lakeshore and a few more private spots if you turn right at the entrance. Situated in a pine forest. The road and town is noticeable depending of the wind direction, therefore i give this spot 9 points.
If you take a more private spot be prepared to say 'hi' quite a lot, since people walk by if they are strolling around the lake.
The drive from Queenstown is astonishing! Take your time! Outer Earthish amazing.

We are probably lucky with sunny weather and a mild breeze.
Sadnflies are present but not noticeable. Bring swimwear and try a refreshing (as in: cold) dip in the lake.

If you're self contained this place has everything you need: basically nothing...
It is a simple picnic area close to the road but also close to the sea. If you love sunsets this is the place to be.
