As others have mentioned, Nathan provides a very personable level of service not found at the larger rental companies.
He’s very responsive and ensured we had everything we needed for our trip. He dropped off a beautiful Fiat Imala (4+2 berth) at our hotel. For its size, it drives like a minivan and was very easy to manoeuvre even on some of the tricky roads down south.
We booked with Sunrise based on all of the great reviews. After a great trip, exceptional service, with an excellent and affordable camper, we’re happy to be one of them. On our next trip back we’ll only consider Sunrise Holiday Campers.
Thanks Nathan!

We were on our way to Nelson and need a stop over as our ferry got in later.
We were just planning to pop in, sleep and head out. We were warmly greeted when checking in and felt very welcome (warm muffins go a long way). After arriving, we considered staying another night to explore the area, but the timing didn't work out -- next time.
The place is spotless and compared to other parks we've stayed in very roomy (doesn't feel like a parking lot). We met several friendly families and overall the place had a very good feeling to it.
Highlights for the kids were the animals on the farm and the hike to the glow worms at dusk as suggested by the hosts. A bag of feed was also provided for each child at check-in. With three weeks in our campervan, this was an unexpected highlight for all of us.
Great value for the price and amazing hosts that made you feel like family, even for a short stay. Highly recommended, especially if you are travelling with children.
Thanks,
-Jason
Hi Jason and family, Our apologies for not having responded to your very kind review earlier. We are so pleased that you felt so welcome here...that is our intention. It's a shame that you couldn't stay longer as Marlborough has so much to offer...next time maybe!
We try to keep our price on the low side so that it is affordable for families. We are also aware that we need to provide spacious sites so that guests have a chance to really rest up. We hope that the rest of your journey in NZ was memorable and if you are back in this neck of the woods we would be very happy to host you all. Kind Regards, Barbara and Chris

It's a little tired.
The facilities are fine, but the overall vibe is a bit sketchy given the setting. The old 1970s trailers taking up most of the spots (I guess you can hire) make the place feel run down. Okay for a stop into Takapuna but wouldn't suggest staying long.
The upside is you are right on Takapuna beach and a short stroll to great cafes, restaurants and pubs (although expensive). If you can secure a waterfront spot (we didn't) it will soften the blow.
