Up close and personal with a beautiful natural wonder.
If you are there between November and January you will see newly hatched chicks. Very cool..

Spectacular & worth "the price of admission" for the glimpes of turqoise through the tree alone.
And golden sand beaches and seals.

Drive Scenic drive from Swanson to Titirangi (or reverse), stopping at Arataki Visitor Centre and any of the easily accessible bush walks along the way.
Rainforest in the city. Views sensational.

It'll do for a place to lay your weary head.
A little dated, a little bland - But then Marahau is all about getting into the park,

I want to give them 10 / 10 because the skiing and natural mountain are GREAT.
But they take the piss with the captive market. Exorbitant - on the - mountain prices. Not enough staff means not getting all the lifts running,no queue control at times, a general lack of customer service 101, fudged snow reports to get us all up the mountain thinking it's open, then promptly putting it on hold, or to send us to one side of the mountain only. Maybe I'm a conspiracy theorist but I hear the Whakapapa side - where they have lots of vocal influential club lodges - does not have the same problems. Skiing = 10/10 Service = 2

Loved the "at the door" pick up service from backpakers around Nelson.
Typically laid-back and friendly Nelson style
