We thought we'd stop here for the night as the last review was such a long time ago.
It was easy to find, not far from SH1 on the southern end of town. The welcome was warm, efficient and the motorcamp has some lovely mature trees for welcome shade.
The facilities are a bit dated, but spotless and there are plenty of free showers. The kitchen is spacious with good equipment available and the lounge room very comfortable. All sites were flat and grassy. There is also a decent playground area for children.
Cost for two adults in a non powered site was $36. Wifi available with good signal strength.
There do seem to be a few permanent residents but they were friendly. There is also a bit of road noise, but nothing that was annoying and is to be expected with the site being off a main junction. It's a nice little spot, so don't be put off by the previous negative reviews.

Have to admit that the other reviews are fair comments on this campsite.
We were dealt with by a very tacturn man who made us feel like we had inconvenienced him. And I did have to raise my eyebrows at his statement that they only dealt with cash and had no eftpos or credit card facilities. He also suggested that if we didn't have enough we could drive into Te Anau and get some out. Really wonder how that works for them in this electronic cashless world! And where does all that cash go????
In saying that the tent sites were good, flat, grassy individual bays and the toilet facilities were very luxurious.
Cost us $40 cash for a non powered tent site.
Beware of the road noise which starts early as the site is on the main road to Milford.

This campsite is no frills, but has absolutely everything you need.
Only two showers and toilets in the ladies, but didn't need to queue so not a problem. Good, solid kitchen and lounge facilities, and having a local pub next door is always a bonus.
Is dog friendly, as there were a few running around whilst we were there, but responsible owners made it easy.
Only the road noise made this campsite rate a little lower. But then it is right next to a main road, so we had no illusions about it being peaceful or quiet.
Flat, grassy non powered tent site cost $30 for two adults.
