Perfect freedom camping spot, right near the beach.
Couldn't flaw it.

Stunning setting, clean and modern.
We paid $55 for 2 adults in a powered site. So close to Milford Sound ferry terminal. A bit of a queue to use the laundry facilities, as only 2 washers and 2 dryers (which needs two cycles to completely dry). Both $3 each for a 40 minute cycle. Would be better if the wifi was free, as no signal for our phone suppliers.

Very well run park with clean facilities.
Plenty of toilet/shower/kitchen/laundry blocks. For the price, you'd think wifi was included, but unfortunately not. All sites are powered, so we paid $21 per person, per night (stayed 2 nights). Showers were 50 cents for 6 mins. Laundry $2 for washing machine and $2 for dryer. Nice spot near the beach and not far to drive to Abel Tasman track.

Best holiday park I've ever been to.
Worth the price as all the facilities are included, but you need to pay extra for laundry. Indoor spa pools were nice and hot, Sky tv in lounge, and clean showers and toilets. We turned up without a booking and got one of the last campervan powered sites at 1600. Fully booked otherwise. Had a glimpse of the lake from our site near the playground. Not too large and very quiet at night. Short walk to lake and 2 very friendly and informative English girls at reception.

Only a 10 minute drive to Franz Joseph Glacier, so can't complain for free.
Quiet spot, but gets full, so arrive before 1830. Beautiful view of glacier. Only negative was some spots in the gravel carpark were very muddy with puddles.

Great campground close to the centre of town.
We paid $55 for 2 people for 1 night for a powered site for our campervan. Plenty of room! Maybe the tent sites are crammed?? Showers are included. The next day we walked to Skyline to go up gondola. Close to everything!

Stunning location and clean toilets and showers.
Hot showers $1 for 5 mins. We got a powered site for our campervan. Was $21 per person, per night. A little expensive, when you have to pay for showers, but the beautiful walks and birds make up for it. Host is lovely and got an overstayer to move from our spot at 1030am when we checked in. Short walk to general store with the best cheese scone I've ever had (I'm quite the connoisseur). No jet skis allowed on the lake, but good visitor centre told us to go to Lake Argyle, which was awesome with hardly anyone there and only 30 min drive.

Good spot for free.
We got there early at 1530, but huge gravel carpark on one side and carpark on the other side of station to use. We slept at 2200, but was very loud with music, talking and people turning up late to get a spot. Make sure you follow the rules on the sign, as the guy who patrols the property lives across the road and he got angry at one camper for peeing in the bush, when there are plenty of clean toilets near the playground. Plenty of rubbish bins and a sink area for washing up. Dump station and drinkable running water.

Beautiful quiet spot for free, so you can't complain really.
Really basic, with no facilities, but right near estuary, so good views.

Pretty tranquil and serene spot for free.
We didn't expect much for free, but were pleasantly surprised. Arrived at 7pm, after getting supplies from Four Square in Picton. Didn't expect to get a park, but was 3/4 full and a couple of station wagons were trying to save parks for their mates. Sorry first in, first served guys! By 730pm it was full and ranger was patrolling and telling others another spot they could go. 1 men's toilet, 1 ladies toilet and 2 long drops. All were very clean and lady came in morning to clean them. We slept through the night and didn't notice the road noise. My fiancé had earplugs, as he's a light sleeper. Couple of picnic tables and nice short walk nearby. Highly recommend to/from car ferry. Not far to Picton.
