It's a big carpark but just the right side is for freedom camping, there is a map showing the area were you can camp and also a yellowed line on the ground.
We arrive by 7-8pm and there were little space left. It has dump station, water and toilets in the other side, which are pretty clean. It is "close" to town bit very useful, clean and quiet.

Nice spot just next to the lake (be careful with mosquitos and other bugs).
Has toilet with sink (all cleaner than expected) and space for about 10 campervans. It is quiet and the views when you wake up are really nice.

It is a little campsite close to town, with old facilities and small sites, a little overpriced.
Staff is friendly. We just used toilets and kitchen sink and it was not so clean as expected. We were on a powered site and the power grid did not work.

We were coming from Whakatane and the White Island and needed a shower and laundry so we booked it last minute the same day.
Staff is friendly, it has hot pools included (we did not use them, we had no time) and the facilities are decent and clean. Our powered site was next to the entrance and had the facilities just in front: toilets and showers, laundry, kitchen and clothe lines. There were only two showers and what seemed a family bathroom, but there were other showers facilities nearby. Laundry and drier 2$ each, has big kitchen. It was quiet and a nice place to stay.

It is a carpark next to a big park with very clean public toilets with sink, which are open all night, next to a skate park (on Saturday morning there were basically little kids riding, not teenagers
). There are a lot of places and it is very close to what seems the downtown, Rugby Museum, Apprentice Brewery and some big supermarkets like Pak n Save or Countdown. It can be a little noisy but you have a lot of space to move to and avoid it.

It is a carpark with just 5 places specifically for campervans and RV, quite big spaces but one next to the other, a little bit crowded.
Has public toilets nearby but they close at night (we were there at 9 and still open). Has dump station and both drinking and no drinking water. We chose it because it was near the departure point for the tour to the White Island and met our needs completely.
