Pleasant campsite that was very quiet when I stayed (early January).
I think the price for pitching my tent $20 was a bit expensive compared to most other campsites and holiday parks. Still, the showers were hot, the kitchen was well equipped and there is a swimming pool nearby!

This is my favourite spot in Hanmer to pitch a tent for the night.
There are plenty of trees, a clothes line and nice facilities. You also get beautiful bird song in the mornings! The staff are friendly.

Lovely place to stay, with a helpful owner who offered me a free towel to use cause I'm a cyclist.
They even have a reserved area for cyclists to pitch their tents :) it cost $15 a night to tent, with nice facilities and a cosy TV room. I'd highly recommend this holiday park!

Great free campsite with a lake to swim in, a public loo and plenty of quiet, private spots to camp in.

For a free campsite, totally nice to pitch a tent and enjoy the views.
The river nearby is a water source, and there is a public toilet. The Omarama township is a few minutes down the road.

Spacious campsite (or field with trees) to pitch my tent in for $10 a night, but to use facilities was an additional $7.
The only thing is, staying at an unsupervised campsite means anyone can turn up, and they did! we had someone racing around on a go-kart until 9pm at night. Very inconsiderate. But, still a good spot if you need to camp for the night.

They were full and busy due to peak season but still let me pitch my tent for the night and at a very reasonable price of $15.
The owner was lovely and welcoming.

Facilities fine, pleasant surrounds, $15 per night to pitch my tent.

A great place to pitch a tent for only $15 a night for one person.
I overlooked the amazing coast line and ocean from my tent, in a nice quiet spot. The showers cost a bit extra, and there is an office with snack foods and helpful staff. It is a large campsite surrounded in flax bushes with the beach close by.

Lovely owners, very helpful and welcoming.
I got a cheap cabin for the night which was cosy. The camp ground kitchen is great with all cooking facilities and a lounge area. There is also laundry available. Recommended!

A convenient location at a junction of two highways, which makes a good stop if you need it!
Very noisy, to be expected. Pleasant surrounds though, with a nice grassy camping area and a toilet. There is no water supply other than the river, which is good for a swim :)

A sheltered camping area in a peaceful setting.
I've camped here more than once and always felt like it's a retreat! there are hot showers at an extra cost, and a small kitchen area with a zip. Cheap too.

I got lost trying to find this place, but I was cycling the West Coast Wilderness Trail so it required me to detour.
Nice campsite with lots of trees for shelter and clean toilets. Arrive early to get yourself a good camping spot though.

Nice camping area with fresh water supply.
Showers are an extra cost at the hotel. The owners are friendly, they helped me dry out all my gear after a very rainy night in my tent! They also offered me a room at a cheaper rate because I was on my own. I'd recommend this place! :)

A lovely, scenic area to camp.
A bit noisy and busy, which is to be expected since it's the entry to the Old Ghost Road track and a stop over for people traveling through the Buller area. But cheap, with friendly wekas who like to thief your food.
