We spent two nights here just after Christmas 2016.
The positives: stunning lake scenery, great hikes/bike trails in the immediate vicinity, and a peaceful and quaint town that has great (and cheap!) ice cream. The park itself was packed full with people, so we didn't get a premium site for our camper van, which was understandable. The facilities were fine, no issues. My major complaint - and the reason I'm taking time to write a review - was the management, specifically the older woman I encountered on a number of occasions. She was so off-putting and dismissive of my park-related questions that I would absolutely not stay there again, if only because of her attitude. A complete lack of understanding for customer service. As an example, I went in to ask about possible fishing boat tours for me and my family. "Oh, you have to have a license, so you wouldn't be able to go. Sorry." This her response, with a strong condescending tone. Never mind that I DID have a license, but I suppose since I was a foreigner, there's no way I could understand. Made it that much worse that I encountered this unpleasant woman on Christmas Day. What a downer. Unless you've got no other choice, don't stay here, if only to avoid her.

My family and I rented a 6-berth for a two-week trip around the South Island from December 2016 - January 2017.
The bad news: the 6-berth had a number of problems that affected our enjoyment of the trip. We were warned on pick-up that there were very few 6-berths on the island and those that were available were dated. Many things simply didn't work or weren't as advertised. Still - we had an amazing vacation. Now - the GREAT news....the Euro Campers staff could not have been more understanding about our complaints. They listened to our concerns during pick-up, responded quickly to additional concerns during the trip, and agreed to a substantial refund upon our return. Despite the hiccups with the van itself, I could not more strongly recommend Euro Campers for their extremely high level of customer service. A special shout out to Melinda and her supervisor Bernd, both of whom were very understanding. We actually encountered a number of locals with poor customer service skills, and it was a delight to encounter this level of service. Ask questions ahead of time to understand what you're getting, but don't hesitate to go with Euro Campers for your NZ camper van needs!
