Check the time, don't arrive later than 10 pm or it will be closed.
You pay the morning when you leave. Admin is super cool. Place is nice, on the rock beach. It's a very long campsite, try to park near one of the toilet facilities. Running water available. You can start your fire on the beach. Lots of people!!! Not that many sand flies.

The view on the lake is nice.
However, the camp doesn't have many facilities and looks more like a parking lot. It's very near the road (you can hear the traffic sometimes) and if the weather is not good I wouldn't recommend staying there (cold wind).

Free campsite, clean and new toilet, water available, 2 tables, big place for parking and nearby the lake and the beautiful track.
Go up in the mountain to get the 360 view which is amazing. Not an easy track, 3 hours return at least and it goes up very steeply. But worth it! Be aware of sand flies, especially near the lake!

Great location a few steps from the beach.
Not too many sand flies. Toilets are great, with (very cold!) showers too. A few tables and good working running water always available. Tracks around it are ok, but you come here more for the beach than the great views like Milford Sound etc. Be sure you paid even if you arrive late cause they check every morning!

This campsite should cost 8-10 dollars like others that offer the same service.
No running water, the "BBQ" is a very primitive form of something that can be called like that, toilet is ok, the view is nice but it's near the river so be careful of sand flies. Ranking low because overpriced, location is great though, with flowers and snow capped mountains visible even in summer!

Great place with a nice lake side position and at a low price!
If you walk up to the surrounding hills you get a great view on both McGregor and Tekapo lakes. The final track of the road is unsealed but in good condition. Toilets are new, water available and differentiated trash bins for everything (+ for the environment). Sand flies present but not in great quantity and only during the evening and when eating. Come earlier if you want a place right near the lake.
