What a gem of a camping spot.
Unfortunately when we camped here 27/12/16 the road to the beach camping had been damaged by what looks like earthquake action and is cordoned off preventing any vehicles driving down to the beach. But by the river was just as nice and a short walk to the beach got us beautiful views. There is a long drop toilet on the beach and it was very clean with toilet paper and hand sanitizer. As long as you're self contained you'll enjoy this spot!

Stayed here for one night 29/12/16 and wished we'd gone elsewhere.
The worst campsite we've stayed in and not value for money to stay here. Mediocre facilities for toilets and showers that were not always very clean. Every site is jammed in on top of each other. Go elsewhere if you can as we wouldn't recommend.
We are sorry that this was your experience and our Holiday Park did not meet your expectations.
Our site rates are on par with the low end rates nationwide.
We are the first to admit our facilities are aged but more than fulfill their purpose, and we are however working hard to remedy this, starting with a new Kitchen coming in the 2017 off-season.
We are proud of the work our cleaners put in. We thoroughly clean our Facilities twice daily in peak times. Due the sheer volume of campers and constant use of the facilities at this time of year, We think the statement ‘that were not always very clean’ coupled with you only stayed a single night to be an unrealistic expectation.
Our site sizes range from regulation size minimum to 2 or even 3 times that size. We have a lot of regular groups camping with us at that time of year; many book multiple sites together and spread across them so site lines can become blurred. It is also a personal choice for how much gear campers put on the sites, with some certainly choosing to maximize the allotted space.

Great place to stop for a moment.
We loved the waterfalls and you can really see the fault line from the 1929 earthquake. Well worth a stop if you're passing through. Only a 10 min walk and plenty of parking and a toilet stop available too. This seems to also be a freedom campsite for self contained vehicles.

A superb campsite and really well run.
All the facilities are keep really clean and lots of hot water from a log burner for showers and washing up. They sell fresh eggs and some home grown veggies too. Right next to the Buller River it's a beautiful campground but do be aware there are a few sand flies but they're all over this area. Great kitchen facilities and a hot water dispenser is available to make hot drinks, a nice touch. Enjoyed it so much we stayed another night. Stayed 28/12/16
