A good place to stay for the last night before you return your motorhome.
We payed $54 for 3 adults, a motorhome and a powered site. The place is ok, but if you are outside you can hear the nearby highway. The sanitary installations toilet and shower are not great but ok. Kitchen is ok too. WiFi can only be used in the reception (where you have to sit on the floor) and even then it's so slow, that you have no chance to make your check-in.

It's a lovely space to stay.
The owner is really helpful and very friendly. We payed $15 per person with a motorhome and for a powered site. The sanitary installations and the kitchen are clean and the wifi is free and working pretty well. The nearby beach isn't very inviting, but the black fine sand dunes close by are great.

A nice, small campground next to the river Rangitikei.
We paid $17 per person with a caravan for a powered site. The sanitary installations (toilet, shower and kitchen) are a bit windy but ok. You get 1GB wifi for free, which is pretty cool. The thing this place lacks is, that there is somebody at the reception during the day to give you any advice. There are no walking/hiking trails apart from a 10min. walk to a dam.
Many thanks for your constructive comment..although we do have a number displayed at reception for guests to ring during the day for any sort of inquiry. Actually, you missed out on the Ruahine National Forest of which our campgrounds are at the base of. There are plenty of day walks into huts or peaks through there. I suppose we only assume guests are already sorted with that information prior to getting to us - so appologies for that..we certainly can provide more info.

An exceptionally beautiful campsite with very friendly and helpful people.
Walk 200m and you are at a beautiful beach. From the beach on, there is a really nice but tough way up the hill (1km) where you have a splendid view over the coast and the hills. The sanitary installations (toilet, shower and kitchen) are good. Price is $19 per person (powered site for motorhome) incl. free wifi.

We paid 40 $ for three persons and a motorhome.
Kitchen was good and clean. Camp space was extremely narrow but clean. No space for a table or some chairs besides your slot. Toilets and showers were a "no go": out of date, falling apart and dirty, wet floors, not enough toilets for the number of campers.
