Great location at the base of Mt Maunganui.
Right on the beach and only a few minutes from restaurants. Well equipped camp kitchen (probably the best!!), good amenties. Try to get a site on the beachside.

Not a 'must do' but if you have 20 mins spare in Napier then this is an interesting thing to do.
You get a tour throgh the whole process - from raw sheepskin to the end product - the wool.

Lost World 100m abseil - great experience, good way of exploring the cave as you abseil first, then climb through the cave and then climb a 30m ladder.
Other tours available too, not affordable for everyone but you get what you pay for - it's worth it!

Much nicer than a flight as it isn't just a normal ferry crossing, it's more a scenic cruise as you go through the marlborough sounds - beautiful.

very nice spot right above a twin bay.
Nice scenery and beautiful sunset. DOC campgrounds in general are a good way to stay overnight. In the middle of nature and many have beatiful scenery.

Walk through beautiful forest and if you organise with the nearby visitor centre beforehand, you can hire a row boat for half a day on the lake.
