Nice spot right in front of the falls.
Kids loved playing on the little sandy beach. We went fishing but didn't catch anything. Good facilities and you can use the swimming pool at the motel up the top too. Really nice people.

The camping areas are set back from the beach.
Went fishing off the rocks and caught snapper. Pretty busy considering how far out of the way it is. Quite a lot of day trippers here too. Bay is good for those with a kayak. Boat ramp is nearby too.

Nice quiet spot, set alongside a river.
There was only 2 other people camping there when we stopped in for the night in late November. No fires allowed. Gravel road to get in but fine for campervans.

Nice flat campground.
Went fishing on the beach and caught some salmon and mullet. Only one other camper there and it was the end of November. No toilets. The trees in the pictures have grown up quite high so not really any water views but they give good protection from bad weather.

Great campground.
It was the start of December so not many people around. Nice site right behind the dunes and close to very clean and tidy amenities. The fish murals looked awesome. Went down the road to the cove restaurant/bar which was world class. The food was to die for and great service to match. Very unexpected. We were just going to drop in for a drink and were so glad we stayed for dinner. Best in NZ!

We really liked this spot.
There was a line of about 30 to 40 campers all along the top of the beach! Great spot to have a few beers and watch the sunset. We fished on the beach but didn't catch anything. Locals came down and put a net in. They were really nice people and gave us a few fishing tips. They do get flounder and snapper here. Nothing there except room to get off the road. I don't think I heard a car go past all night but I had put a few beers away.

Good spot right on the beach.
Only about 8 spots for self contained campers and then a bigger area beside for camping. Very busy beach on the weekends. Awesome views of the surrounding bays. Plenty of oysters and a few mussels out towards the point. You can walk across to the island at low tide too. Nice beach for little kids but not white sand.

Great spot right between the Royal Oak Hotel and the river running into the beach.
Nice people (especially Gavin who was just a top all round fella) and flat sites with clean facilities. Camp kitchen with microwave, fridge, cooktop and a couple of sinks. Weather was terrible when we were there but still got a feed of mussels at the south end of the beach and then went across to the pub for a few ice cold pints while it rained most of the arvo. Would definitely stop there again.

Nice people.
Flat site for the campervan but we were packed in like sardines - 3 other campers within a few metres. We arrived late (just before 8pm when the office closes) so the kids couldn't have a swim (no kids after 8pm) but they went when the pool opened at 7:30 in the morning. Just the one pool at the park. Temp was about 35 degrees and it had that sulphur smell. It was pretty busy but it was a Saturday night. Very expensive in my opinion for the small site. It did look to have a huge camp kitchen but we didn't use it.
