Beautiful campsite near the river.
We stayed there one night in low season. Despite a lot of people being there, cosy and not noisy. Only toilets and no tap water. We showered in the Taupo iSite for $2,50 pp. (Open from 9am to 4.30pm).

Clean kitchen with dishes and everything you need for cooking. Living room with sofas and dining table. Bathroom facilities are working and hot shower is free, but not clean.

Beautiful, quiet car park directly on lake Taupo.
Good spot for hiking the Tongariro alpine crossing. You need 30 min. from there to Ketatahi car park. We stayed there three nights in low season.
Clean flush toilets, cold outdoor shower and toilet sink to wash your dishes. You can have hot shower either in Turangi swimming pool or Tokaanu hot pools.

Very beautiful place with a lot of facilities.
Hot pools, hot showers, big kitchen, thermal oven with fresh herbs growing, direct access to the lake, laundry for $2. Everything is very clean. We stayed there in low season for $39 per night for 2 adults. Our favourite campsite so far.

Very beautiful place at the beach with many hiking tracks around.
We stayed there one night in low season. Despite a lot of people being here, not very noisy and a large site where you can choose your place where ever you want. Cold shower, toilet, water for washing dishes. Payment with honesty box $16 for 2 people.

Stayed there one night and paid $30 for 2 people for a non-powered campsite.
Hot showers for $1 for 4min, laundry, kitchen, and even a quite big living room. Everything is very clean, and the landlord was very nice.

Beautiful, quiet campsite very close to the Queen Elisabeth park on the beach.
Everything you need is very clean: big kitchen, barbecue, showers, toilet, laundry. There is even a playground for children. Stayed there two nights and paid $31 per night for 2 people for a non-powered campsite. You need 45-60min to Wellington.

There were 6 cars all together that night on that place. Little noisy, because its just behind the main street of Kawakawa. However, good for one night for free.

Landlord was still there and put us on a site. All facilities are very clean. Beautiful kitchen with nice eating area and even dishes provided.

We arrived at 9pm, nobody was there, so we just stayed there.
Paid in the next morning. Small kitchen, hot showers and flush toilets. The women in the shop was very friendly and let us stay one more hour for late breakfast :-)

There is a clean toilet available. Would recommend it for early walks in the national park. People in iSite and the cafe were very friendly. Very good cake and coffee in the cafe for a reasonable price.

We stayed there two nights with our NON self contained campervan.
$30 per night for 2 adults including car. Very quiet beautiful place with scenic park to walk and hike. Sheep, pigs, cows, goats and chicken are there and you can wander around and pet them. Toilets and sink for washing dishes. Hot shower for $2 coin available but did only work on one morning. Booking over the Auckland City Council Hotline - take your time (15-30 minutes) and payment over secure payment line.
