The area is stunning.
For this company they have friendly staff, but boat is small so expect it to be very rocky if the wind/waves pick up - which unfortunately it did for us. It got pretty rough & to be honest in hindsight we wished we hadn't gone out (not a great idea for them to still go out in rough conditions for such 'consumer' cruises) as a lot of people went green, & the kids got really sick (ginger etc wasn't enough). This totally ruined out next day as I had booked doubtful sounds and paid for it, but the entire family of 6 couldn't go as they were so scarred by the sea sickness of this Milford trip. This boat/company is really not reccommended for those prone to sea sickness.

I would never use Europecar from Auckland Airport again.
Their level of service is unreliable & the pits. We had to wait 30 minutes in line as the s-l-o-w staff messed around, then told person in front of us that they couldn't honour their booking and suggested they try another company on the fly?!. Then after we finally went through our 10 minute process, we then had to wait an additional 35 minutes to get the key!. Then finally I had to go bac & get them to write a HUGE scrape on the check card (glad I did!). Be warned, if you use them you might not have the car waiting for you, and expect the longest (1 hour+) & lousiest rental car check in experience of your life.

This place is really underated.
It is a great place to visit, interesting plants/animals/birds and great for the whole family. Lion feeding is always fun, but so are a lot of the small animals you can feed yourself. Everytime we visit Rotorua we visit this park. Highly reccommended!

Geysers are great, Mud pools not bad.
Kiwi house was very good. Maori show delved into the 'for tourists' territory. Overall very expensive, so lowered the rating as not great value for money. Wish I'd known you can lower prices from ISite apparantly.

Rented a mini-van from GoRentals in Christchurch.
The van was old & clapped out - but the customer service was excellent which helped make up for it. The baby seat wasn't good though (no real padding) & caused us some problems, but car did reliably get us there despite looking like it wouldn't make it out of the car park...

I’m sorry the baby seat wasn’t ideal for you, we are aware some of our child seats are getting aged and we are currently in the middle of replacing all these older ones with brand new stock. In regards to our Minivans we give our clients 2 options on our website, an older vehicle with higher kms (however still just as reliable) for a super cheap rate, or the newer Minivan with low kms for a slightly higher rate.
