You learn a lot about Maori culture and geology from your guide and then you can wander round the village by yourself after the one hour tour.

You have to pay for the guided tour which we felt was expensive but the guide was very knowledgeable.
Free beer in the Green Dragon was great. A must do tour for Lord of the Rings fan.

Campervan is as we expected - an older (2003) ford transit.
Furnishings are looking a bit tired, but everything works. A good amount of space for two of us. Easy to drive. Staff were lovely. Free pickup from the airport was a good bonus.
