Actual springs/geysers impressive, cultural show intro pompous and long winded.
Entry relatively expensive (why are tickets cheaper at 'iSite' than at the gate? ).

Not well sign posted from SH2 - small well kept site in river setting - road noise 24hr.
Very near to Karangahake. Gorge mining works, ruins & great walking.

Easy to walk day sections using local firms to drop off and pick you up by boat (would question expense of organised trips taking 5 days).
Fantastic scenery.

Small immaculate site set in dunes next to bird sanctuary and fab beach.
Spoils you for any other site. Great value.

Upgraded to new 4 berth van.
Superb for storage and gizmos -easy to drive. Lacks practical storage space (drawers) for several days on the road. Pre-delivery checks lacking, empty gas bottle, no water.

Presented NZ's maritime history in an easy to absorb way, using mock ups, visual and narrative methods.
Well worth an hour or two. The included boat trip around harbour was superb value.

3-5 hr moderate walk through great scenery and really interesting disused gold mine workings.
Very good information boards - all brings history to life.
