Could have been an amazing spot!
Main grass area was shut. Probably for the winter for it was quite wet. Bridge to the toilet was overflowing with water. People had left a bunch of rubbish on a pile. Nice friendly chicken walking around. Lots of sand flies.

Could have been a beautiful spot.
Unfortunately looks like someone was doing donuts in the grass. Or construction workers ruined the grass after removing the old drop toilet. New drop toilet! Little ways in but totally worth it. Secluded in a nice lush forest.

Absolutely lovely spot in the forest with great facilities.
I could see how it would be incredibly crowded in the summer. Great freedom camping spot close to Rotorua. Stayed two nights and were only people here.

Just a big field of grass for campers. No privacy. Great brand new washrooms. Sinks to do dishes. Good for our last two nights in NZ!

Absolutely stunning freedom campsite.
Great walking trails close by. Good for before or after Arthurs pass. Right on the Lake. Saw a few people feeding the ducks. Please to not feed the wildlife!! They become dependent on human food. Clean long drop toilet.

A little far in but lovely trees. Better for tents then campers though. Long drop toilet was filthy and horribly smelly. Good walking trails around.

Toilet is a hike to get to. Beautiful walk up to the lookout. Crowded with campers during ski season.

Right by a dairy farm. Extremely windy. Quite smelly because of the cows. Probably better on a less windy day. Drop toilet clean.

Stunning Campsite right on the ocean.
Looks like the shut the original spot but the new one is much prettier. Washrooms definitely need a renovation. Great spot for a swim. We went in August and people looked at us weird. Quite cold but refreshing! Self contained only.

Not much space but right on the ocean! BBQ available for a couple coins. Great washroom with a summer outdoor shower. Stunning sunset.

Wow what a spot!
Right on the ocean. Self-contained only. Only one long drop toilet. PLEASE PICK UP YOUR RUBBISH! Had to pick up some cans from many of the fire pits. Stunning views.

Strange spot on the corner.
Washroom only open during the day. Seemed to be a bus stop for the kids. A little strange waking up to that. Good to stop at if you really need a place. Just a car park.
