We really loved this spot!
We arrived at 4pm to check it out then drove into Taupo to get groceries and supplies, which wasn't that far at all. There was plenty of space and there were only three other campers here, so we parked right next to the lake! We stayed in winter but it wasn't too cold at all and the wind didn't bother us. Enjoy!

The location of this site is the only reason we gave it a high score.
Overall very overpriced as you have to pay extra for showers ($2) and wifi ($5 for 1GB). The powered sites are close together and the staff are not very friendly. The walk down to the lake itself is stunning and so we stayed out there until it was dark!

Despite the expensive price, this place had excellent facilities.
The toilets and showers looked brand new, as did the kitchen. Powered sites are well sheltered and each has their own fresh water supply. Free DVDs to borrow, with cafe on site for early morning coffee! Would have been a 10/10 if the price was a little lower!

We had the entire place to ourselves and so parked right next to the lake.
A really beautiful spot with stunning views over the lake. Very useful to have the lodge nearby, both for the coffee, warmth and wifi. Very friendly staff! We didn't need the toilet as we are self contained but when we checked it out it was a little smelly!
