Easy walk, mostly flat, to get a closer view of the glacier.
The rocks and streams around you and the waterfall on the side make it an enjoyable walk. We could not do the heli hike on the glacier because of bad weather (very common in Franz Josef) but were glad we at least did this.

The weather was typical, grey and raining but the Lady Bowen took us along the myriad of waterfalls.
The kayaking afterwards was actually the best part, gently cruising along the lakes edge for 1.5 hours, where we were lucky to see a Tawahi Penguin - very cool!

Starting from the Sumner Clock Tower, we have some trouble finding the start (tip: photograph the route overview), but afterwards the walk was very rewarding.
Great ocean views from the cliffs. We walked until the beach and had to return afterwards for lack of time.

We were picked up by a van and some of the pilots to head to Coronet Peak.
Within a few minutes we were set up, walked, ran and flew! You get to steer yourself and end with a corkscrew before landing, 15-20 minutes after take-off. Very relaxed feeling and great views along the way, highly recommend (though very weather dependant, we had to reschedule three times).
Awesome, Bram Hoonhout. Glad you enjoyed your flying experience with us. You are right, pargliding and hang gliding is a very weather dependent activity, similar to skydiving, hence we always recommend to plan in our activity at the beginning of your stay in Queenstown - more chances for flying.
Hope you enjoyed the rest of your travels through New Zealand.

Shorted than the popular Hooker Valley track, the Tasman Lake offers a lot in less time.
The view of the glacier lakes with the icebergs is really nice and actually better than on the Hooker Valley track. The light blue water is beautiful too (if you have a little sun). The nearby Blue Lakes walk is an easy add on, but we preferred this one.

While the arranged pickup was an hour late, the free upgrade to a Sprinter van was a great positive surprise.
The van was clean and still looked new (whilst having a km count of 250k). We had a great time and were glad we did not book a sleepervan, as the some of the most beautful camping spots (f.i. at Lake Pukaki) are for self-contained vehicles only. Highly recommended company.
