Last minute stop in the sleepy small town of Moeraki after visiting the Boulders.
Small park, good value $35 for powered site that overlooked the water, $5 for wifi. Very short walk to the local tavern for dinner. Small but adequate shower block with free hot water. Great info from office re lighthouse seals & penguins.

Very quiet at this time of year. We almost had the large part to ourselves & could chose where we wanted to park. Amazing views of the mountains, very peaceful with lovely surrounds, grass & trees. Amenities clean & simple with free hot showers.

Free limited wifi. Plenty of amenities. Great kitchen and BBQ. Close drive to Lake Mathieson and Fox Glacier. Well maintained park. Heated floors in the bathroom and great shower areas with lots of room - free hot water.
Thank you for your review. I'm glad that you feel that we have plenty of amenities as well as a great kitchen and BBQ. Heated floors in the bathroom are something that were part of the renovations so i'm pleased that you liked them.

Great park - easy walk into town.
Free showers that are plentiful - hair dryers & towels for the floor when you step out of the shower. Fairly tight spacing between vans, but this was no issue. Great BBQ & kitchen facility. Free limited wifi & $5 for 1gB. Great easy to use dump station, drive over the grate and empty! Filters water station for drinking. Supermarket easy walking distance to & try Pedros House of Lamb up the road - delicious! Pricey at $60 per night for powered site, but worth it for all the reasons stated!

Fantastic small park! Very well maintained lawns and gardens and surrounds. $30 for powered site, free wifi, great amenities - clean and fresh $2 for shower. Very friendly!

Rainforest Retreat

A lovely haven in the middle of the rainforest.
Tight spaces, but you don't notice as the rainforest surrounds you and separates the park and sites. Wifi was free, however so slow it's pretty much not functional. Bar and restaurant on site. Lots of buses / backpackers in front area, hotel rooms, but powered sites area was very quiet and peaceful. Adequate amenities, despite the park looking relatively full, never waited for toilet or shower and the hot water was free, unlimited and the best pressure on the South Island! Bliss!

Wow! Our last night was spent here on the way back to Christchurch and we wished we had a few more nights to stay longer.
Great sites, amazing view of mountains. Kitchen/lounge area 5 star. Bathrooms/showers 5 star. Free hot water, untimed, well set out shower spaces. Very helpful staff. We walked to waterfall off the back of the property - which was spectacular and at night took the glow worm track into the rainforest as recommended on check in, and saw a massive display - just beautiful! By far our favourite stop on the South Island - don't miss it!

We loved this park and came back for an extra night.
Great views from powered sites. Plenty of toilets and showers, both in a unisex block and male/female blocks. Cheap wifi. We walked up the Mt John track which was great with amazing views. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Excellent facilities with free untimed showers. Free wifi. Good flat, tarred powered sites. Friendly staff and close location to town.

Good bathrooms and kitchen facilities. Close location to Kaikoura. Amazing sunrise!

We spent one night in a campervan on a powered site.
Easy parking, level, tarred site. Very close to hot springs, easy walk up the street. Great restaurants in town also an easy walk. Free wifi.
