Amazing walking, you feel like a Hobbit walking in the 'middle heart', at the end the surprise, a beautiful crystal blue lake.
The walk takes 5 hours return.

There are many areas around Rotorua like that one and that you can visit for free.

Incredible place in the most southerly point of the North Island.
No people around, just the sound of the wind and waves. And then the biggest colony of sea lions there are in the North Island.

Beautiful lake after one hour walking in the bush.
Choose a sunny day for going there, the colours are amazing. You can also rent a boat ($20 for four hours. Or just go walking around the lake.
