One of the best DOC campgrounds during our two month trip through New Zealand.
Only a 3km gravel road. We didn't have difficulties to reach this great place near a mirror-lake nestling between mountains and sheep. We were lucky to pass the overcrowded Queenstown, 7 km away. The basic facilities were very clean.

Such a friendly atmosphere on this campground.
We had the best washing-time on this windy hill with a helpful host. It's a basic place with a lot of improvement in the next month.
many thanks glad you enjoyed your stay

What a beautiful spot, so near the Sound with best view from each campsite for mobile homes.
There are a lot of opportunities like swimming, canoeing, trekking and discovering from this place. The facilities were very clean and in best new standard. We would come again if possible!

A basic campsite in marvellous landscape.
20 minutes walk to the most exciting coastline. A 'must go' during your NZ - holidays! It's nice to be self-contained, so you don't need to use the facilities.
Thank you for your review.

We spent 2 nights at this tremendous campground.
It's situated between sanddunes, a beautiful long, sandy beach and a hill overlooking a long coastline and the whole Ohiwa Harbour. Don't miss the walk up the hill and down to the beachfront. It's urgently requested to book in advance. They have a big fan-club. The facilities were very clean.
Thanks for your comments and yes it does pay to book in advance - especially over summer.
