Watch the sunrise with Cape Kidnappers in the background if clear weather. Be advised security does do drive throughs. Two clean toilets.

Stayed here in April and absolutely loved it with the farm yard.
There is a phone at the park you can use to ring the council to book (takes 15 mins) but worth the stay. Beautiful scenery and plenty of grass or gravel spots available. Close to Auckland and easy enough to find from the motorway. Showers aren't in the camp ground but in the entrance area.

Great free spot overlooking the lake.
Fairly hidden from the SH1, can still softly hear the highway but park up under the trees and overlook the lake and boat ramp which isn't utilised often.
