Smelly long drop, noisy (even at 60kph, you're just so close) no privacy/shelter, but it's free.

Great campground, plenty of space but also plenty of spots to tuck into if you want a bit of shelter or privacy.
Not a spectacular beach, but it's only 30 seconds walk away so can't complain too much. Every toilet cubicle contains a sink, power outlet and a cold (freezing!) shower. They were all very clean at the time.
Very friendly caretaker collects the fee in the morning, and at only $6 pp/n it's great value. Now if only they had WiFi...

Reasonable location, friendly if slightly unprofessional staff and overpriced for what you get.
Facilities were immaculately cleaned but simply old and worn; in bad need of renovation. Sites themselves are small and awkward to manoeuvre into.

Super busy.
There aren't 5 designated spots per-se but you can really only fit 5 vehicles between the signs. If you can drive another half an hour, go to the Warrington Reserve instead, there's a lot more space.

Basic DOC camp ground.
There is a $5 honesty fee. Is in a valley so gets freezing cold overnight even in summer. Couple of sandflies around too so pack the repellent!

Large car park, but only a couple of spots are available for campers.
Toilets are just off the nearby sports centre. Very bright floodlights and had some loud kids in the domain nearby even at 11pm, but your experience may be different.

Last kilometer of road is gravel and had a few potholes at the time but no trouble.
$1 per 5min shower, low pressure but nice and hot. Basic modern kitchen facilities, $3 washer and $3 dryer. Nothing special, but no complaints either. Short drive to Wanaka itself, which is beautiful.

Very popular, so you will struggle to find any privacy.
Other reviews say it all in regards to facilities. Beautiful spot, but only a 8 because of loud campers.

Good solid camp ground with plenty of shelter on a windy night.
Lovely hot shower with no timer! Free WiFi too, though it started cutting out as more campers arrived. 5 minute walk to the beach.

Nice place for a cup of coffee and a walk, however not set up for camping at all.
Garden was a little overgrown when I was there, still very nice. Swans were aggressive but you can stand up to them and they will leave you alone after a bit of a display.

Busy busy busy!
Very muddy, no real space for tents and not enough toilets for the number of campers. Stay at one of the other sites and drive the extra 20 minutes in the morning.

Old camp ground with either very muddy or very hard ground.
Ridiculously noisy overnight with cows, dogs barking all night, and roosters in the morning. Might have been a particularly bad night, but certainly memorable for all the wrong reasons.
