The hike was wonderful despite raining the entire way in.
The hut was spacious and comfortable. Scenery around the hut was splendid. And soaking in the hot pools during a cold rain was amazing. The only reason I rate this a 9 and not a 10 is because of the several creek/river crossings that required either taking our boots off or slipping on wet rocks. We were prepared for difficult. But when we saw "easy tramping" on the trail head sign, we didn't expect what was delivered - NOT an easy tramping trail. We've done a lot of hiking/mountaineering on rough terrain at high elevation. I would rate this more as "easy" for elevation gain and "moderate" for ease of tramping.

The convenience and customer service on the pick-up in Auckland and the drop-off in Queenstown were awesome.
It was so easy. The price was good too. Our complaint is that we had a car with nearly bald tires and horribly out of alignment. So, on wet and windy roads on the South Island we drove slower out of fear of sliding off the road. Besides the bad tires we were happy with the service.

Wonderful all around.
The accommodations were perfect. The place was beautiful. We kayaked, hut tubed, ate, and relaxed. Mike and Lynley were perfect hosts and conversationalists. We love Hopewell.

The dive operation was well-organized, on time, and we got what we expected - a great experience and a nice lunch.
The crew were informative, helpful, and safe. And we saw orcas!!!!!
