This was definitely the best campground we've been since the last three months!
Quiet spot with a lot of trees. Sweet cabins and great facilities. Kitchen, dining room, laundry (but only cold water), TV room...especially the bathroom was from heaven! I felt like in a 4star hotel!!! Hot shower as long as you want. Highly recommended! $40 for two is ok.

It is a bit longer drive from the highway but it is definitely worth it.
The beach, the lighthouse and the breath-taking cliffs are awesome. Climbing on Castlepoint Rock offers an incredible view over the bay and the best thing: you are away from the masses of tourists!

Coromandel is such a beautiful destination.
Especially the really big cove of Cathedral Cove is amazing. It is best to come early morning or at sunset. Otherwise there are too many people. We enjoyed an incredible sunset picnic at the beach!

This waterfall is so cool!
There is a great walk through the jungle directly next to the river and at the end comes the waterfall.

We missed the snow at home but here we had it.
Take a ride with the chairlift to the highest cafe in New Zealand at 2020m. Especially the 'Skyline Walk' offers an incredible view over the National park and wandering through snow in summer months is a lot of fun!

I love hiking and wandering........
so I have already seen a lot of beautiful locations. But this daytrip was better than everything I have ever done before. Especially climbing Mt Ngauruhoe (Mt Doom) was the hardest but one of the best experiences so far.

The view from this mountain over the city and the endless beach is really cool.
It is best to climb it during sunset. It is breath taking from up there!

It is just a short walk from Whakapapa Village.
The walk is great because you have a great view over Mt Ruapehu and Mt Ngauruhoe. The waterfall itself is so cool. It is approximately 15m high and you can sit right at the edge and walk under the fall.

The point with the beautiful lighthouse offers a fantastic view over the coastline.
The most stunning thing was to see two oceans collide. There are as well a lot of great walks in this area and a very nice camping ground at a hidden beach.

It made so much fun riding down the impressive sand dunes with the board!
You get so fast......awesome!

It is definitely a New Zealand must do!
The walk (duration 1-2 hours), leads you to breath-taking hot pools, craters, lakes and caves. None of the craters/lakes is like the other. Everyone was different colours...... it is like another planet! Champagne Pool is the best!
