This was one of our favourite camp spots on the entire island.
It was magical! We found a beautiful spot for our camper and explored the beautiful surrounding forest. It was like being in Lord of the Rings. There are drop toilets which are well maintained and plenty of private spaces to park a camper.

Nothing special, but great for a free place to pull up, get dressed and go enjoy one of the french restaurants.
We went to the little bistro and it was AMAZING food.

Amazing views, but not many flat spots and just a gravel car park.
Good for a quick overnight stop.

Retired Jucy Rental Campervan hired at a fraction of the cost.
No big branding plastered all over it. But the van is borderline on its last legs.

We stayed there in January, it was a GREAT spot.
Loads of flat area for comfy sleeping and easy to find a private spot with views of the lake. Beautiful to wake up to the lake in the morning.

They are a little on the pricey side but the view is magical and it is super relaxing - and romantic - on a cool night.

Great spot PLUS there's surf!
It's on the road, but it's so quiet here that barely any cars actually drive to it. The drive here is also absolutely stunning no matter which way you're travelling. Highly recommended.

Such a great spot overlooking the beach.
Close to Oamaru, great surfing and even access to toilets!

Lovely people, lots of space amongst trees, quick walk to town and the beach and great facilities.
Hot showers, outdoor BBQs and tables, kitchen and media room.

It was fine, nothing special, but good for some warm showers on the way to Milford sound.
Lots of trees which was nice.

Great location in an amazing town.
Be warned though, it's just a gravel park, no atmosphere. It's a place to pull up for the night and go explore the wonderful town.

We loved this spot.
Surrounded by water, loads of space, easy to get a private spot and it even had a toilet. Had the most beautiful sunset as well.

Great camp spot, beautiful views, tranquil and tucked away off the main road.
We had a very unfortunate experience where a group of young boys drove in during the night and were drinking, taking drugs and making lots of noise in their car. It was a bit scary to wake up to at midnight and they left a lot of rubbish. I would hate this to turn anyone off the campsite though, hopefully it was a one-time occurrence only as we reported the number plate to the police.

Your New Zealand trip isn't complete without a night here.
Set at a water hole, free wifi, clean eco-friendly toilet, comfy grassy spots to lie around and the best thing - Don! We had great conversations with Don and left with a huge basket of organic goodies from his garden and a dose of inspiration.

Beautiful location and HUGE grounds filled with amazing big trees.
Loads of facilities too: showers, kitchens, power points, laundry. We reset here for 3 days before venturing back out to free camp spots and the life of minimal showering.

Fantastic location.
You can pretty much camp on the beach and there's a great point break. Perfect peeling waves with pretty much no one on them!! We stayed here 2 nights.
Glad you enjoyed your stay with us
