Site on the edge of the lake, some powered sites had a perfect view of the lake (30 - 20 I think) but others obscured by the campers on those pitches.
In 2 tiers tho so on second tier can still get a good view of the lake. Showers were 2 dollars I think and were hot. Loos and kitchen facilities etc all clean enough. 2 mins to a walk up to observatory and the hot springs. Reception staff friendly enough - nothing exceptional. Would return for location. Amazing stars on a clear night with a small moon! Cold though!

Close to Wanaka, on the lake.
Pretty beach with lots of driftwood. Very windy but amazing views if you get the right spots. Clean flushing loos. Would go back!

Nice site - perfect location for grabbing the heli rides to take you up onto the glacier.
Fox has a few pubs within walking/spitting distance too so nice location if you want some home comforts. Glow worm walks 5 mins away. Clean facilities, hot showers which are free! Also free wifi on arrival! Lady in charge was very nice and helpful. Would go back for sure!
Thanks Kim for taking time out to post a review

Lovely DOC site with views of the mountains!
Amazing when the sun sets and rises! 15 minutes out of Queenstown. Man in charge very friendly. Flushing loos and long drop. Cheaper alternative to staying in the town to save some money and get better views!

Nice site with new toilet block.
Very friendly/pesky pair of wekas that hang around hoping for some food! Next to a river where you can go panning for gold. Can't say we found any but it was really good fun! Would recommend!

In the centre of town but tucked away under the mountain with the gondolas so not noisy.
Free clean showers - hot and not time limited. Nice pitches - well lit site. Just don't break down there or they want to charge you $20 for a jump!

Loved the site!
Rhonda, the lady in charge was very helpful and friendly, nothing too much for her when it came to suggesting and booking trips for us. As independent travellers, she tried to get us and another couple involved with the group who had come off the Stray Bus - said its all about making friends. So that was nice of her. Amazing views of the mountains and the sea - especially from the showers as they have a high window looking right out onto the beach! Showers all clean, free and hot. Outside area with chiminea and outside seating too as well as the barn with kitchen facilities. Fab trampoline too - had a few giggles on that. Just make sure you dump waste before rocking up as no dump station - closest in Motueka. Also stock up on food as in winter, Marahua nearly completely shuts down. Recommend the kayaking with MSK which Rhonda can book for you. Definitely a place to visit!

Lovely campsite on the edge of the beach.
Very nice people in charge who were happy to advise on places to go/walks etc. Facilities clean and showers were free but push button and low so had to crouch to wash hair and keep pressing button. Just a little bit awkward that's all but only minor criticism. Close to pancake rocks and blow holes. Pub up the road with a pool table. Would definitely visit again!

Nice little site near the sea and about 40 minutes from Christchurch.
Showers were a dollar or two and lasted a good time and were hot! Also shower heads that you can stand under rather than crouching! Flushing loos, kitchen facilities, DVDs and books etc available. Lady in the van on site (in charge of site) was helpful and gave us change when we needed.
