Short walk up to several tiered waterfalls.
You can go further up to the very top using a hidden steep, narrow pathway (lots of climbing).

The drive to the track is difficult (through lots of Fjords) but the track itself is quiet with nice river and forest sections and finally the waterfalls and glaciers.
Quite an easy walk.

In the short trip down the river you do three waterfalls (including the 7m drop), swimming in the currents and lots of rapids.
Our guide, Blue, was awesome. The photographer's pictures are worth the money. You can see the pictures before you buy.
Thanks Sarah - will pass on the good vibes to Blue !

Best value for money so far on our trip: clean drinking water, sinks, clean flush toilets, great river view or private cubby hole spaces, hot showers, friendly and helpful owners and book exchange.
$8.50 per person! No check out time.

Right next to the Hooker Valley Track.
Nice toilets, dirty kitchen (no appliances, just shelter to cook), clean drinking water, sinks (bring soap - I can't remember there being hand sanitiser). $10 per person. Got very crowded. The toilet block at the end is nicer than the one at the beginning. Very disappointed however in DOC's grimy and dirty public shower down the road. Advertised as $2 for 5 mins hot water. I put my $2 coin in and started my phone timer so I didn't run out of hot water half way through my shower. After just over 3 mins the hot water stopped: soap in eyes, conditioner still in hair. Fortunately I had another $2 coin which I used and timed it again. Just over 3 mins again! They're actually lying about the 5 minutes! I went to the DOC office to complain and got $2 back, but their reaction definitely made me think it's not the first time someone has complained... why can't they either just change the sign and web info to 3 minutes, or instead actually make it 5 minutes as advertised?! I feel bad for the people who go in with only one $2 coin!

Awesome.
Lots of room, lots of riverside spaces. You can go swimming on a sunny day. Lots of ducks around. Clean long drops with hand sanitiser. Bring your own water. Oh, and it's free!

It's free, and nice river spots so can't really complain..
HOWEVER it's the first campsite in 2 months travelling NZ where there was no toilet paper, or hand sanitiser. And the trek to the toilet was soooo long from the river spots. Someone had 'gone' by a tree near the river as well. We saw the DoC man arrive but he didn't put in toilet paper. We stayed 2 nights.

Great value for money.
$10pp for hot showers, kitchen facilities, toilets and plug sockets for charging. The tent site ground can be really steep and uneven in places though.
