I've stayed at the lodge twice now, the first with my sister just after Christmas last year and the second time just recently alone.

Both times camping and both times having the most amazing experiences. Both Nils and Lois are incredibly helpful and full of knowledge about the local area. The situation of the lodge is second to none. Beautiful views of the valley right down to the sea and if you're up early enough in the mornings, you can see the mists rising from the ground up towards the hills. Magical! The facilities are always clean, there's plenty of places to hang drying laundry. The constant supply of fresh organic veggies for sale really makes you feel like you are living the 'self sufficient' way. The drive up to the lodge could be daunting for some but trust me, it's worth it. Several hillside walking tracks and incredible sunsets at the end of a long hot day make it a must... Will be returning here many times for sure.
