Good spot, close location to the city.
Found a cool pub up the road. Didn't spot the toilet till the next morning - its in the southern end of the site! No noticeable noise, quite a bit of street lighting though.

Nice spot out of the main drag of Taupo - the freedom spot on the lake in town was almost full in the early afternoon.
Warning for non self contained vans though, the toilet was locked after 5pm and not reopened until after we left at 830am.

$35 to park our van in what looked like a construction zone.
Toilets and showers ok, but kitchen was disgusting. Not an ideal place but cheapest in Queenstown and about 15 minutes walk from the centre.

Plenty of space, beautiful views to wake up to, however for $20 for the two of us unpowered was pricey.
Only facility is a port-a-loo toilet with no sink.

Good spot for a free overnight.
Didn't notice any excessive noise, toilets clean enough. Only down side was a lot of street lighting (and our van had rubbish curtains!). Nice big park adjacent to the site with lots of facilities, including mini golf.

Great little site, reasonably priced and clean facilities.
Not many toilets or showers but didn't affect us in winter. Friendly owners and helped us out using the BBQ as it hadn't been used in months. $4 for washing, another $4 for drying - wash was only 20 minutes and didn't clean clothes very well. Made friends with one of the cats who followed us round all morning!

Nice free spot on the river, train noise didn't bother us.
Toilet is.... Unique! Closed around 730pm and wasn't overly clean but did the job.

Very popular site, even in the middle of winter.
Sadly a fair bit of rubbish about means this site will probably be closed soon. Didn't utilise the toilet as we parked a fair way away from it, lots of fire pits however there is a total fire ban. Regardless, it is a very beautiful spot and my favourite sunrise of the trip!

After reading reviews, expected a lot more from this site.
Owners weren't overly nice and are incredibly up tight about cleanliness, which is fine and understandable, but requesting my credit card details in case I leave a mess is taking it a bit too far. Only one shower (unisex) and has one of the two toilets in it. Glow worm walk would've been great if half the lanterns weren't out leading us to getting a little lost. When we finally found them my partner took a small step left and landed in a metre deep muddy puddle. Washing and dryer is $4 for each but the dryer only runs for half an hour and left everything wet! Not impressed.
Hi there Beth, thank you for your feedback - sorry your stay was not as expected !
NZ has just had it's busiest summer ever for tourism, and our Holiday Park did too - which was really fantastic, but as you can imagine with communal facilities, we really have had to remind guests to tidy after themselves.
Nearly every accommodation provider in NZ has a standard check in form and that usually includes credit card details as a request.
Our Holiday Park has five showers, and six toilets - and even better, we are working on plans to build an entire new bathroom building too which we are really looking forward to!
As you can imagine in the middle of winter it gets a little glum, and the solar lights don't retain the solar power quite as they should, however on the directions to the glow worms hanging in our communal area we do mention that a torch is required.
Our laundromat machines are less than one year old, and as long as they are not overloaded they manage to wash and dry all of our Holiday Park bedding on a regular basis. We hope you enjoy the rest of your travel throughout New Zealand.

LOVED this site (honestly don't know why there's a 1/10 review??).
Only $36 powered for two people off season and chucked us some free wifi. Loads of discount vouchers in the office and very helpful staff. Whilst the vans are parked somewhat close together, there are small bushes/hedges between each site to give some privacy. Loads of toilets and showers and all very clean. Didn't use the kitchen but was large and also clean. Hot pools were great, also clean and very nice for a relaxing afternoon. Short walk through to the lake shore where you can dig your own hot pool. 20 minute walk to eat street in Rotorua with plenty of great restaurants.
Hi there Beth Goodrich, Thanks for your feedback.Much appreciated. We are happy that you enjoyed your stay.See you next time.

Good value, clean facilities and decent sized kitchen.
Would hate to see how busy the place is in summer though, very small site difficult to manoeuvre our small 7m van when half full.

Favourite place of the entire trip!
The owner was extremely friendly and helpful, small site but amazing facilities. Very clean, good showers, plenty of utensils and space in the kitchen, tv room, and awesome room with pool and ping pong (small cost). Nice little walk out the back through the bush and board games free to borrow from reception. Loved it!

Drove here after deciding the freedom camping spot in Akaroa wasn't that flash.
Beautiful spot, literally on the water front and only a short walk back up the road to the public toilets (or drive for when you're feeling lazy and cold!).

No signage and couldn't contact any relevant person to confirm.
Great views of the lake and very deserted site. Clean and flushing toilet but take your torch as there's no lights.
